Lexus officially bringing CT 200h hybrid to the U.S.
Lexus fans in America who have been waiting for the luxury line's newest hybrid model to become available in this country may not have to wait much longer, as Toyota of America recently announced that the new CT 200h hybrid would be available for lease and purchase later in the year.
Lexus has always been one of the most popular
cars for lease, and with the added fuel economy and reduced emissions of the CT 200h, the company hopes to regain some of the esteem it lost in recent months due to Toyota's worldwide recall.
The CT 2005 will feature a 1.8-liter VVT-I inline-4 paired with an electric motor that early estimates suggest make 42 miles per gallon on the highway. Exact performance details have yet to be released on the five-door hatchback, though a Lexus release claims that the motor is "powerful," according to WorldCarFans.com.
In addition to being the smallest in the Lexus line, the CT is projected to be one of the more affordable hybrid vehicles on the market when it launches later in the year. The exterior remains largely unchanged from the 2009 LF-CH Concept that was first unveiled at the 2009 Frankfurt Motor Show.
