Chrysler launches 2012 Fiat 500 Abarth at American market
Shoppers who are looking for lease specials on quick cars got a new option this week when Chrysler introduced its 2012 Fiat 500 Abarth.
Designed to be "small but wicked," the vehicle has been a favorite of European drivers for years, and will now deliver the same race-inspired tuning to U.S. car leasing showrooms. Priced at $22,000, the auto deploys a turbocharged, 1.4-liter engine to deliver 160 horsepower to its wheels, using precision-balanced suspension and brakes to create aggressive performance on the road.
"The Fiat 500 Abarth feels like a double shot of espresso straight to your veins," said Tim Kuniskis, Head of FIAT Brand for North America. "With its wicked attitude, it will reward adrenaline fans who no longer need to pay six figures to feel the rush of true Italian performance."
Fiat will even help teach American drivers how to handle the spicy little speedster. The company is including a full day of professional track instruction at the Richard Petty Driving Experience in the price of every new car.
For drivers who pause long enough to turn on the radio, standard features in the cabin include hands-free communication, a Bose premium stereo system and steering-wheel-mounted audio controls.
