September Buyer Searches on Swapalease.com Reveal Renewed Interest in SUVs and Crossovers

by Swapalease.com 12. October 2009 23:43

Buyer demand for SUVs and crossovers has surged in September, according to Swapalease.com, the world’s largest auto lease marketplace. According to user data, interest in top SUV and crossover models to lease has increased across the boards from August to September on the popular lease transfer Web site.

Buyer searches for the ever-popular BMW X5 Series and the Mercedes-Benz M Class models on Swapalease.com had the most significant increase from August to September. Other popular SUV models include General Motors’ Cadillac Escalade and Chevrolet Tahoe as well as the Porsche Cayenne, and Land Rover’s Range Rover and Range Rover Sport, among others.

Top SUV and Crossover Searches in September

1.    BMW X5 Series

2.    Mercedes-Benz M Class

3.    Cadillac Escalade

4.    Chevrolet Tahoe

5.    Porsche Cayenne

6.    Mercedes-Benz GL Class

7.    Land Rover Range Rover

8.    Lexus RX 350

9.    Land Rover Range Rover Sport

10.  Acura MDX

Swapalease.com officials contend that this is yet another sign of economic recovery as consumers are looking to get into bigger, more luxurious cars again.

“Swapalease.com closely monitors trends in buyer demand for leases through our web site user data,” says Scot Hall, a leading automotive lease transfer expert and EVP of Operations for Swapalease.com. “One might assume that because of the recession and concerns about the environment people are choosing to ‘go green’ with smaller, more economical vehicles, but our data proves otherwise.”

An online car lease transfer is the most cost effective option for consumers who wish to exit a car lease early or to find someone to take over car payments they can no longer afford. Many people simply like to change vehicles often and benefit from taking over a short term lease in which they can easily accomplish this without putting money down or worrying about depreciation.

Swapalease.com Applauds GM’s 60-Day Guarantee; Offers Leasing Tips

by Swapalease.com 2. October 2009 00:56

Both onsumers and industry insiders alike have been abuzz about the new GM 60-day money-back guarantee in which consumers will be able to return their cars to the dealership for a refund within 31-60 days of purchasing them.

“Swapalease.com applauds GM for taking this extra step to show consumers they believe so strongly in the quality of their product,” says Scot Hall, EVP of Operations for Swapalease.com, the world’s largest automotive lease marketplace.

Of course, today’s savvy consumers may be concerned with the fine print of the program. While the offer does not apply to leased GM vehicles, consumers need not worry. A program offered by Swapalease.com covers these leased vehicles.

“Swapalease.com is pleased to be able to help those with GM leases to take advantage of a risk-free guarantee through our lease transfer marketplace," says Hall. “Whether it’s a lease or a loan, a GM vehicle or not, we have options for you.”

The most common reasons consumers say they want to get out of leased car early include financial concerns and lifestyle changes (such as a growing family), according to Swapalease.com user data. Some people simply like to change vehicles often, and lease transfers allow them to do this cost effectively.

A lease transfer has become an even more attractive option in the recession because people are able to pick up a short term car lease and not be tied down to a long term financial commitment while the job and housing market remain shaky.

“Consumers may change their mind about their cars for various reasons at different points of time during their lease,” adds Hall. “Our web site offers the opportunity to get out of a car lease early without the penalties associated with early termination. This is our own satisfaction guarantee, and it is good on most any make or model.”

Swapalease.com Employees Give Back to Local Students and Teachers

by Swapalease.com 8. September 2009 19:36

The team at Swapalease.com recently came together to help local students and teachers by hosting a bin for the Push for Pencils back-to-school drive. Each year during Push for Pencils, the local non-profit organization Crayons to Computers (aka C2C) collects basic school supplies that go onto the shelves of their free store to supply local classrooms in need. The employees at Swapalease.com gave generously and filled not one but three bins solidly.

A recent article in the Cincinnati Enquirer discussed the tremendous burden placed on teachers having to buy school supplies for their students, and how Crayons to Computers is helping to alleviate this burden.

Swapalease.com strongly encourages its employees to get involved and give back to their local communities. The company sponsors employee and non-employee participation in various marathons that support local charities and regularly makes financial contributions to various local and national community organizations such as the American Heart Association, Make a Wish Foundation, United Way, Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center, and Reds Community Fund.

Swapalease.com Site Traffic Up 200% in Top Markets in June 2009 from Last Year; Buyer Searches Strong

by Swapalease.com 28. July 2009 23:41

Swapalease.com, the world’s largest auto lease marketplace, is reporting a 203% increase in site traffic from Los Angeles and a 171% increase in site traffic from New York City in June 2009 compared to June of last year. Overall site visits also increased from June 2008 to June 2009.

Top vehicle searches have increased since June of 2008, as well, including searches for most BMW models. The BMW 3 Series, 5 Series and 7 Series models in particular have maintained top five spots in the search lists both years.

June 2009 Top Vehicle Searches

  1. BMW 3 Series
  2. BMW 5 Series
  3. Mercedes-Benz E Class
  4. BMW X5 Series
  5. BMW 7 Series
  6. Cadillac CTS
  7. BMW M3
  8. Porsche 911

  10. Mercedes-Benz C Class

June 2008 Top Vehicle Searches

  6. Ford Escape
  7. BMW X5 Series
  8. Porsche 911

Swapalease.com officials attribute the increase in traffic to a number of factors including job loss and the economy, greater awareness about lease transfers as an option, and a greater number of vehicle leases available for transfer in the Swapalease.com online marketplace.

Pioneered in the late 1990s, Swapalease.com’s patented process helps consumers get into and out of car leases online. The company works closely with major leasing companies to ensure that consumers have a safe and fun experience using the service.

"We attribute much of our success over the past ten years to our repeat customers and word-of-mouth referrals," says Scot Hall, EVP of Operations for Swapalease.com. "Our customers come back again for a second or third vehicle and let their friends know when they’ve had a good experience. Our goal is to continue to exceed the expectations of our customers for years to come."

Swapalease.com Is Crazy About Cash for Clunkers; Endorses the Program to Help Consumers Go Green

by Swapalease.com 28. July 2009 23:37

With the recent passage of the Cash for Clunkers bill, also known as “CARS” (Cash Allowance Rebate System), the auto industry is buzzing again with a renewed positive outlook for the future. Officials from Swapalease.com, the world’s largest auto lease marketplace, are saying that Cash for Clunkers will boost the leasing industry and help protect the environment in the process.

The government subsidized program is designed to help consumers turn in their older, less efficient vehicles and apply the government credit for it towards the purchase of a new one with improved gas mileage.

Consumers can search through a large selection of fuel efficient vehicles (including hybrids) for sale or lease in Swapalease.com’s online marketplace.

"Swapalease.com strongly supports the Cash for Clunkers program. It is good for leasing and good for the auto industry," says Richard Joseph, President and Co-founder of Swapalease.com. "We have even added a new section to our web site to assist consumers who have questions about the program, as well as explaining which option is best for their unique situation, whether it be a new lease origination or a lease transfer."

Since 1999, Swapalease.com has been helping consumers exit their car leases early with no penalties using a patented online process. Consumers looking to get into short-term leases with no money down and low payments can take over the remaining payments on these in-process leases. Lease transfers are a win-win-win situation for the buyer, seller and the leasing company since it saves everyone money and reduces repossessions.

"Cash for Clunkers will have a positive impact on the environment and the economy, and helps hard-working people that are part of the auto industry as well as those who are not. It is important to Swapalease.com that consumers know we support them," adds Joseph.

Q-tips, Kleenex, Band-Aids…and Swapalease

by Swapalease.com 27. June 2009 01:58

With the global recession on everyone’s minds, the idea of "swapping" to save money is growing in popularity. Auto lease swaps, in particular, are on the rise all over the U.S., says Swapalease.com, the world’s largest auto lease marketplace. In fact, Swapalease.com has become so popular that the term "lease swap," which was branded by the company in the late nineties, has become synonymous with lease transfer.

Similar to Q-tips, Kleenex and Band-Aids, the genericized term "lease swap" demonstrates how successful Swapalease.com has become as others in the market and mainstream media often use it interchangeably with lease assumption or lease transfer.

Swapalease.com pioneered the facilitation of lease transfers online ten years ago and uses a patented process to help those looking to exit their car lease early find a qualified buyer to take over the remaining payments. Particularly with the state of the economy, where uncertainty is rampant, the company is seeing increased interest on both the buyer and seller sides of the lease swap transaction. Leasing companies and consumers alike are benefiting.

Lease swaps are a win-win-win solution for the buyer, seller and leasing company because everyone saves on their bottom line. This is the most cost effective option for those looking to get out of their lease without penalty and the consumer who assumes the lease gets low monthly payments and sometimes even a cash incentive upfront.

Swapalease.com officials note that almost anyone can ‘swap ‘til they drop’ on their site, even those who do not currently have a lease.

Top 10 Lease Transfer Reasons

by Swapalease.com 3. June 2009 00:06

Several weeks ago we blogged about the reasons most often given for one wanting to takeover a lease.  Now it is time to look at the other side of the equation and find out what the motivation is behind those individuals wishing to exit their lease...

The following list was compiled using a two-tier approach based on Swapalease.com user feedback. Results data was obtained directly from users through the web site as well as through employee user interaction.

  1. Financial concerns
  2. Lifestyle changes
  3. Want a new vehicle
  4. Mileage concerns
  5. No longer need vehicle
  6. Gas prices
  7. Family size
  8. Dislike their present vehicle
  9. Insurance costs
  10. Maintenance costs

Financial concerns, the top response incorporated a range of user feedback including, but not limited to mortgage related issues, loss of employment, and general budgetary concerns. Lifestyle changes remain a strong motive, as well indicated by runner up status. The most prevalent example provided by Swapalease.com users was a growing family and the fact that their present vehicle will not be able to accommodate their needs in terms of people and gear hauling capacity.

Interestingly, Swapalease.com clients noting that they simply want a new vehicle as a basis for transferring a lease landed the third position despite an uncertain economic outlook.  Also current prices at the pump are often cited as a basis for wanting to exit a lease.

Social Media Strategy Drives Success for Swapalease.com

by Swapalease.com 28. May 2009 02:26

Swapalease.com, the world’s largest auto lease marketplace, has more than doubled its goal with its latest social media strategy on Facebook.com.

The company recently launched a free car lease (or loan) payment promotional giveaway on the social networking site as part of the Swapalease.com 10th year Anniversary Celebration.

"We’ve received an incredible response from our fans on Facebook who are engaged and eager to share their success stories with other Swapalease.com fans," says Scot Hall, EVP of Operations at Swapalease.com.

Last week, one such fan, Jeff Greenhalgh wrote, "I found my dream 2008 Hummer at the monthly payments I could afford only on Swapalease.com! Swapalease.com benefits both buyers and sellers…I am hooked." Another fan, Carol Kassab of Detroit wrote, "I love my Mercedes C230 that I found through Swapalease. You guys rule!"

Other Swapalease.com fans are using the company page to post questions about leasing and the types of vehicles they are looking for. Fans respond with details about the vehicles they have listed in Swapalease.com’s online marketplace.

Swapalease.com has exceeded their goal by 200% with well over a thousand fans and still growing. Due to the success of the current promotion, the company plans to make Facebook promotions and social media marketing an ongoing initiative in the future.

Lease transfers, also known as lease assumptions or lease swaps, is when a consumer takes over the remaining payments for someone who wishes to get out of their existing car lease early for various reasons.

Swapalease.com pioneered the facilitation of lease transfers online ten years ago and contributes its growth the past ten years to superior customer service and a great selection of vehicles in every price range, which is unparalleled by any other company in the industry.

"Swapalease.com wants to give something back to its loyal clients and raise awareness for those who still might not know that lease transfers are an option," says Hall. "We are looking forward to continuing to grow our fan base on Facebook and beyond."
